The TAPP website describes the program as follows: The TAPP – Think About Personal Pollution Campaign helps educate individuals on ways that small personal changes in home and yard practices can help keep local lakes, sinks and streams cleaner. The campaign is here to help you understand your impact on water quality and to encourage you to take action by adopting some slightly different approaches to things you do every day. TAPP offers educational materials and seminars that provide information on this program to local neighborhood and civic groups.
The website has a plethora of Green Infrastructure resources including wonderful videos (yes, they have all of those awesome TV spots archived) and the definitive Rain Garden Manual for the Big Bend Area. TAPP also has a Rain Garden grant program and a team of dedicated outreach professionals. |
Since early 2014, the Tallahassee Museum has been developing a Green Infrastructure Education and Outreach program. The program centers around a showcase of installed, maintained and monitored green infrastructure (GI). The museum has also developed many presentations and activities for groups of all ages.

UF/IFAS Leon Extension is a government partnership with the mission to improve citizen lives by developing knowledge in agriculture, natural resources, and the life sciences and to make that knowledge accessible to sustain and enhance the quality of human life. The extension office have several professional staff and resources to assist with plant selection, soil identification, fertilizer use and other stuff related to stormwater and Green Infrastructure.

Leon County maintains a web presence for matters related to water quality. The County performs routine water quality monitoring of lakes, streams and other waterbodies within the county. The county publishes detailed reports on the water quality results as well as drainage information on their website. One can also find interesting factsheets on other topics such as common invasive/exotic plants and Identifying native vs invasive apple snails.

The Sustainable Tallahassee website describes the organization as follows: Sustainable Tallahassee promotes environmental stewardship and economic vitality in our community through education and collaboration. We are a catalyst for individual, group, and community-wide actions that save water, energy, and money, optimize the sustainable use of resources, and ensure a place that will still be special for our children and grandchildren.
The organization hosts and advertises a wide range of sustainable activities and events including the popular Green Drinks social gathering at the end of each month. |
